CfP: ASAUK, Lagos Studies Association Stream (Abstracts deadline 10th Feb, 2018)

We are delighted to announce that the African Studies Association (UK) Conference 2018 will be held at the University of Birmingham, UK from 11th-13th September 2018.

As a key event for scholars working on and in Africa, the conference this year already has 55 committed streams on a range of topics.

The Lagos Studies Association Stream are specifically looking for additional paper proposals for the following panels at ASAUK:

–  Maritime history and historical perspectives on Lagos shipping

–  Religion in Lagos: historical and contemporary perspectives

–  Linguistic dimensions of Lagosian culture

–  Lagos politics: approaches from history, political science, and anthropology

–  Lagos social history

If you have any queries, or would like to submit an abstract for consideration, please contact Dr. Oliver Coates orc20@cam.ac.uk by 10th February 2018.
