We are delighted to announce that the African Studies Association (UK) Conference 2018 will be held at the University of Birmingham, UK from 11th-13th September 2018.

As a key event for scholars working on and in Africa, the conference this year already has 55 committed streams on a range of topics.
The Lagos Studies Association Stream are specifically looking for additional paper proposals for the following panels at ASAUK:
– Maritime history and historical perspectives on Lagos shipping
– Religion in Lagos: historical and contemporary perspectives
– Linguistic dimensions of Lagosian culture
– Lagos politics: approaches from history, political science, and anthropology
– Lagos social history
