Huza Press (RW) invites submissions of
short fiction and nonfiction by Rwandan writers
and
artwork by Rwandan and Kenyan artists
for a new imprint created in collaboration with No Bindings (UK) and Kwani Trust (KE).
This new book series brings together the work of writers and artists, publishing original artwork (in monochrome) alongside three short stories by contemporary Rwandan writers as pocket-sized editions with accompanying sound pieces.
These new print and sound publications will be produced in English and Kinyarwanda, and launched in Kigali, Nairobi and Bristol.
RadioBook Rwanda is a new Art new Audiences project supported by the British Council’s East Africa Arts programme.
Submissions should be emailed to radiobookrwanda@gmail.com by 25 January 2018 (extended deadline). Selected artists and writers will each receive £500.
Guidelines for Story Submissions
- word length: 1000-4000 words
- open to all Rwandans residing in or outside Rwanda
- written submissions should be in English, French or Kinyarwanda
- each writer may submit up to a maximum of 5 pieces
- please send submissions by email to radiobookrwanda@gmail.com
- attach writing as a word doc (format 2.0 spacing & 12pt, times new roman)
- include a short biographical note, no more than 100 words, and your contact details
- successful writers will be notified by 15 feb 2018 & receive a fee of £500.
Guidelines for Artwork Submissions
- please be aware your artwork will be printed in monochrome
- open to all Rwandans and Kenyans living in or outside Rwanda and Kenya respectively
- you may submit up to a maximum of 5 pieces

- attach artwork as high res (300dpi) jpegs or pdfs
- include a short biographical note, no more than 100 words, and your contact details
