Billy is the author of The True Story Of David Munyakei and wrote the screenplay for Soul Boy and Nairobi Half Life. His short fiction has been shortlisted for the Caine Prize and appeared in Chimurenga, McSweeney’s, Granta Online, Internazionale and Vanity Fair. This reading will be followed by a discussion about work in progress on a new issue of the flagship Kwani? journal engaging with the Kenyan coast, Billy’s work as a writer for print and screen, and his role as a key figure in contemporary African publishing.
