The Abantu Festival is a non-profit initiative and therefore relies on donations and sponsorship. South African bibliophiles contribute, of course. Besides this, however, the festival is supported by various organisations, including South Africa’s National Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Arts & Culture, Soweto Theatre, Eyethu, and Miles Morland Foundation.
