Event: International Festival of Poetry and Performative Arts, Maputo (25-27 July)

 The Mozambican-German Cultural Center (CCMA), Goethe-Zentrum Maputo and the Poetas D’Alma Collective will host the first edition of the International Festival of Poetry and Performative Arts in Maputo to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Poetry Night program, one of the most important and influential performing arts events in Mozambique, and in the wider region. The event will take place from July 25 to 27, 2019.

The Festival aims to celebrate the art of the word, the expression of creativity through art, and the cultural exchange between artists and peoples. It is therefore an important platform for the demonstration of the cultural diversity and identity of Mozambique, and the world.

The event, which will last three days, is attended by artists from more than 10 countries, including South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Madagascar, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba…

The International Festival of Poetry and Performative Arts program includes poetry, music, and artwork. There will be an after party and other forms of artistic intervention on stage, space for interaction between artists and the public, book fairs, and craft workshops. The event is both academic and non-academic.
