by Albertine Books in French and English
You are warmly invited to this event on 27th October with French-Rwandan author and rapper Gaël Faye discussing his award-winning novel, Small Country, just translated in English and out in U.S with Hogarth.
Already an international sensation and prize-winning bestseller in France, Small Country is an evocative coming-of-age story of a young boy, a lost childhood and a shattered homeland.
“I was born with this story. It ran in my blood. I belonged to it.”
Gaël Faye was born in 1982 in Burundi to a French father and Rwandan mother. In 1995, after the outbreak of the civil war and the Rwandan genocide, the family moved to France. An author, hip-hop artist and songwriter, now living in Paris, Faye released his first solo album, Pili Pili sur un crossiant au beurre, in 2013. Small Country is his first novel. It has already been awarded numerous literary prizes, including the Prix Goncourt de Lycéens.
The event is free but please register here.
