South by South presents contemporary film from across Africa to audiences in the UK through quarterly film screenings and masterclasses at the South London Gallery.

Set in 1976, Kalushi tells the true story of Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu, a 19-year-old street hawker who becomes an icon of South Africa’s liberation.

The film is accompanied by a filmmaking masterclass with director Sam Masud, attendees of the masterclass can view the film for free.
