Contested Spaces

The Type/Cast editorial collective is thrilled to announce a new call for submissions.

For our fourth issue submissions are open until midnight on Friday, 1 September 2017.

We’re looking for fiction, poetry and short nonfiction works.

This issue’s guest editors are Efemia Chela and Bongani Kona, who recently worked together editing Short Story Day Africa’s anthology Migrations.

Issue 4: the theme

For this issue, we are seeking submissions that deal with the theme of contested spaces. This term can be taken literally to deal with physical spaces that are contested, or it can be seen as referring to emotional or intellectual spaces—or any other space the writer’s imagination can conceive. However individual writers choose to understand the notion, we look forward to the new writing that we will receive!
