CFP: TRAVERSEA – Online Journal in Transatlantic History

hi folks,

I know I am the ‘transatlantic history’ lover of the group, but maybe if I keep posting opportunities about this, you will eventually get interested. 😉 XxN

PS: we missed the deadline of January 4, but don’t panic! There is another one coming on April 1st!

Call for Papers: Traversea (Online Journal)

The Editors of Traversea; Arlington, Texas

We invite graduate students and scholars to submit manuscripts for the
second volume of *Traversea*, a peer-reviewed, online, open-access journal in transatlantic history.

*Traversea* is dedicated to the publication of research in transatlantic
history. Transatlantic history pertains to the interconnectedness of human
experience and cross-cultural encounters of Europe, Africa, and the
Americas (North and South) from 1500 to the present. It is inherently
interdisciplinary, transnational, and comparative in approach and moves
beyond the boundaries imposed by the concept of the nation state.

The editors invite submissions that are historical, geographical,
anthropological, literary, sociological, and cartographic in nature. *
Traversea* is operated by doctoral students as a joint project between the
Transatlantic History Student Organization and the doctoral program in
transatlantic history at the University of Texas at Arlington.

The editors prefer to work with manuscripts no longer than 10,000 words,
including tables, charts, footnotes and all bibliographical information.
The editors accept submissions written in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Arabic, but all authors must submit an abstract in English approximately 200 words in length. Submissions should be written in Times New Roman 12 points and include citations in Chicago style. The inclusion of images is encouraged, but all authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish the image and paying the required fees.

Authors are asked to register accounts within the journal website and use
the provided upload area for the submission of their article. The journal
website is accessible under the following url: http://traversea.uta.edu

The deadline for submissions considered for the next volume is April 1, 2012. The publication of the second volume is planned for Fall 2012.
